Chestnut flour? That sounds soooo complicated, you might think. Guys, trust me.
- If you can’t get your hands on it, do not worry. In this recipe it can easily be substituted for any nut flour of choice or oat flour. It is worth seeking out, but not vital.
- It is not more complicated than any other flour. I just adore the taste of it as it is sweet, nutty yet not overly “fatty” or decadent.
Anyhow, these cuties are the ultimate snack, especially on the go or after a workout, at least in my opinion. They’re jam-packed with contrasting textures, which is in my opinion vital for a good raw bar/bite/ball. Also, you can easily adjust the ingredients to your preference.

No bake, Whole food Chestnut Chocolate bites
[Vegan, whole food, no bake, gluten-, dairy-, grain-, sugar-, oil-free, fruit sweetened, paleo]
Serving 16 small bites Time 15 minutes
- 10 /100g / 3 oz pitted dates
- 2 tbsp nut butter of choice
- Optionally 2 tbsp of strong coffee
- 4-6 tbsp chestnut flour (or nut- or oat flour or such)
- 2 tbsp cocoa powder
- Optionally a handful of raisins, chopped dried figs or apricots
- 4 tbsp buckwheat or cereal, nuts or seeds of choice
- 4 tbsp cacao nibs or nuts and seeds of choice
- In a food processor or blender mix the dates and nut butter, optional coffee, til it becomes a paste/dough. Add the cocoa powder and flour. The flour one or two tbsp at the time until it forms a uniform dough.
- On low-speed or by hand mix in your add in of choice. Shape into balls or into a large square that you later cut into equal-sized bites. Enjoy!
